Repair First
Most gutter problems are repairs, not replacements. A gutter that drips at one seam does not need to come off the house. A run that sags between hangers needs its pitch reset and better hangers, not all-new gutters. We fix what is actually broken and tell you straight when the honest answer is that the system is done. About half the "replace everything" quotes we see on second opinions turn into repairs once we look.
Repairs We Do Every Week
Leaking seams and corners. Sectional gutters leak where pieces join. We clean the joint, reseal it properly, and fasten it so it stays. Inside corners on colonials are the usual suspects.
Sagging runs. Wet debris is heavy. Old hangers loosen, the run sags, and water pools instead of flowing to the downspout. We re-pitch the run and replace hangers with hidden hangers screwed into the rafter tails.
Loose hangers. Spotted from the ground as a wavy line along the roof edge or a gutter pulling away from the house. We refasten with proper hangers — not another spike in a rotted hole.
Downspout problems. Disconnected elbows, crushed sections, downspouts dumping water at the foundation. We reconnect, replace damaged parts, and add extensions that carry water away from the house.
End caps and miters. Small parts, big drips. We replace them.
How It Works
Step 1 — Free visit. We look at the whole system, not just the spot you noticed.
Step 2 — Diagnosis and written estimate. We show you what is wrong and price the fix. Every home is different — contact us for a free written estimate.
Step 3 — The repair. Most repairs take a few hours. We match materials and color as closely as possible.
Step 4 — Water test. We run water through the repaired section to prove it flows and does not leak.
When Repair Stops Making Sense
We will tell you when a gutter is past repairing: rust eaten through in multiple spots, sections bent past straightening, or every seam leaking because the whole run has shifted. At that point yearly repair visits cost more than new seamless gutters. We would rather tell you that once than sell you repairs every year.
The Fascia Question
Sometimes the gutter is fine but what it hangs from is not. If the fascia board is soft or rotted, new hangers have nothing solid to bite into. We check the fascia on every repair visit and handle fascia repair too, so the fix holds.
Repairs We Talk People Out Of
Not every repair is worth doing, and we will tell you when it isn't. Resealing every seam on a rusted-through gutter: the metal around the seam is failing, so the seal fails with it within a season. Re-hanging gutters on rotted fascia without fixing the fascia: the hangers pull out again, guaranteed. Patching the same section twice: if a repair didn't hold the first time, the underlying problem — usually pitch or fascia — wasn't addressed, and patching it again is just a slower way to pay for the real fix.
In each case the honest answer is the bigger job: new fascia, re-pitched runs, or replacement sections. It costs more today and far less over five years. We would rather have the uncomfortable conversation now than the "it failed again" call next spring. About half the second opinions we give end with us recommending less work than the homeowner expected — and the other half end with us recommending different work than the last company quoted.
After the Repair: Keeping It Fixed
A repair is only as good as the maintenance around it. The number-one killer of fresh gutter repairs is the same thing that caused the original problem: debris sitting in the gutter, holding moisture against seams and hangers. A resealed seam under a gutter that never gets cleaned will fail again — not because the repair was bad, but because standing wet debris defeats everything.
That is why we recommend every repair customer join the maintenance plan, or at minimum schedule the next cleaning before we leave. Clean gutters protect the repair, and the repair protects the house. It is a simple chain, and it only breaks when someone stops paying attention to the gutters.
